Member of Parliament for Plymouth Moor View
Alison Seabeck is campaigning with local Councillors, George Wheeler and Sally Bowie, about the withdrawal of the taxibus service which serves St Budeaux and Western Mill.
Taxi Fast which runs the service announced that it is going to stop the taxibuses from the 6th August. Unfortunately the company did not consult with either its passengers or the Council prior to taking this decision.
Alison said "I live in St Budeaux and know the area very well, it is very hilly and the withdrawal of this service will mean that many elderly or disabled residents wil be struggling to get around. Many people rely on this service to get to the Doctor or the local shops. The lack of consultation has meant that no time has been given to look into alternative providers for this service. I will campaign with the local ward councillors, Sally and George to get this service reinstated".
Please support our campaign to get this service re-instated by signing the petition below.
Petition against the withdrawal of taxibus services in Plymouth
To the House of Commons. The petition of residents of the Plymouth, Moor View constituency and others, Declares that the petitioners are unhappy with the decision to withdraw the taxibus service that serves the residents in the north of Plymouth; notes that residents in St Budeaux and Weston Mill use this bus to access their GP surgery, dentist, shops and other community facilities; further declares that the withdrawal of this service will cause major inconvenience to residents. The petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons urges the Government to encourage local authorities to support local taxibus services to avoid these vital public transport services being removed. And the petitioner(s) remain(s), etc.
